I am just one, I can't make a difference

Hey ...

I am sure, most of you have heard of  this famous statement "I can't do anything alone" or "I can't change everything alone". Well this is not just a statement its an attitude. This could come either from frustration or laziness. Well I am writing this post because, from month or so, I am arguing too much with lot of people about our country, education system, politics etc. You know, when you argue on these topics, the opponent has only one statement to say " Hello, I am just one person, How much I can change this?"; and power of this statement is I don't have answer for this.

I just want to say one thing here, I know, you know and whole world knows You alone can't change anything. But you can do some good things or support good behavior. Who knows someone could be inspired my the way of life you are living.

Recently I was arguing with my friend on "Bribe"(Very hot topic, isn't it?). talk went on and on... He asked me, OK, I bribe, am I criminal? . I said, "Yes of course, you are!!" but I am not a cop to punish you. All I say is, whatever you did till now its OK, from now try not to bribe. You feel good about it. Today, your are one, tomorrow your friends could follow you and later their friends. He answered in a completely different way, actually I was shocked. Viji, listen, why should I give more money for govt? What is it doing to me? At least if I bribe that individual will be happy.etc. And argument went on.. Finally he said what I expected. "OK, even if I leave all these bad practice and start new thing, I am just one, what change I can make?"... I stopped my argument and return to resumed work.

With this post I just wanted to say, If you follow good practice in life, someone will follow it. If you think no one is following you, it doesn't matter, you are doing good things in life... you should feel good about it.

At this moment, I would like to thank all my friends and colleagues who listen to me and following good things in life. I also insist you to tell your friends about it.

Happiness and Sadness run parallel

Hey ppl..

Last weekend (5th & 6 Mar 2011) something unique happened to me, its an different experience all together. I faced happy moments and sad moments at the same time.

To start with March 5th and 6th, 2011 was an important dates for my friend "Pranesh Madhavan". This was the day he was getting married. Well way back then, when I used to live near New York, he was one of my friend.
We use to hangout a ton. His marriage was fixed and venue was decided at Chennai, India. For this occasion lot of my US friend planned to come. I was really excited to meet them and planned my trip well in advance i.e in Dec 2010 itself. As planned, I visited Chennai, attended marriage and enjoyed with my friends. That was the best weekend I spent with my USA friend.

But, there is a person who never care about your plans instead he will always executes his plans  ( GOD). He planned something else for me for that weekend. I was all set to go for marriage on Friday ( 4 Mar 2011), my Grand Mother( My mom's mom - Rangamma ) had Myocardial infarction( Heart attack) and she was admitted to "Jayadeva" hospital. I visited her on Friday before leaving to Chennai and had a word with Doctor. According to doctor it was mild attack, and she will be alright. With his words, I left to Chennai hoping I will see her on Monday.

I remember last time in hospital she said take care and kind of happy journey ( By that time, some nurse started shouting at me and grandma. She want me to go out and my grandma not to talk). With all that I left hospital and headed towards my cousin's house who drove us to Chennai that night.

I really enjoyed each and every moment at Marriage function. But I was trying to reach my parents here in Bangalore to check how is Grandma.  But no one was picking up my call. I thought they were busy and once they get time they will call me back.

When I didn't get any call from them for 2 days, I guessed something wrong. But still I was hoping for best and returned back to Bangalore on Sunday 2011 at 11:30 PM and heard the bad news. My Grandma expired on Saturday early morning itself :(

I still had my sweet/ happy memories of marriages in my mind and here death. My mind was kind of confused, shocked, blocked out for hours… I was not able to sleep, I was still not able to figure out, what was going on… Somehow after long time i.e early morning I slept.

Anyways, its been 2 days, I am almost normal now…

Before ending my post  I would like  to Congratulate "Pranesh Madavan" , "Shashi Madhavan"and wish them Happy Married Life

and

I will pray god to give my Grandma a good gathi in paraloka…

Spellchecker - My real enemy

Hey people,

Today I am writing something which is troubling me from very long time in my heart. Its my "Written English".
I am not sure how many of my friends know I suck in written English. It could be grammar, spelling mistake, sometime using wrong word... this list goes on and on....

Firstly, I started my journey of learning English in my school day (its not LKG or UKG, but its my 6th grade). I learnt alphabets and framing 3-4 letter words in 6 & 7 grade. When I moved to Hight School, it became nightmare. It was one of the tough subject I faced. Somehow I graduated from high school even without knowing much english.

Later joined college, with friends also used to speak Kannada. When my professors write something on board I remember I use to read word by word. Forgot to mention, my 11th and 12th grade were in English medium. Graduated from pre-university college and joined Engineering.

This is place which made me realize that "English" language is very important. Just an year before my graduation I started my preparation to learn everything about the language. My friends taught me grammar, tenses, when to use "is", "was" etc etc. Somehow with god grace by end of graduation I was able to speak some broken English.

When I joined Mahindra Satyam as a Software Engineer, work place taught me how to speak in English. I am sure, I am so much better in spoken english than I write it.

From past few months, I started writing blogs, essays and realized that " I am so bad at writing English". Let me put it this way - " I am not at all improved in my written English". The major reason for all this is Computers.

When ever i feel like writing something, I type it in Mircosoft Word or in some website. These application(word, browsers) are programmed to correct spellings if any. When I started my career as programmer, I used to pick spelling suggestion  from the computer to correct my spelling and without my knowledge it became a habit. Now I can't write on paper or type on any computer tool which not support spell check, because which make me uncomfortable. This uncomfortable feeling is fear of mistakes, which paper can't highlight or my mind either.

Now its time to put an end to this excuse. I decided try hard to improve my written english and want to feel myself good. I seek all my friends help in achieving this.

Last by not the least, I thank all my friends who made me realize this. And special thanks to "Girl" who always correct me then and there when ever i make any mistake.

P.S: Any spelling or grammatical mistakes please ignore.

Cheers,
Vijendra

Super Speciality Hospitals - Are they misleading the Doctors they hire?

Hey ppl,

How are you ? Today i am here to share my latest  doctor visit experience here in Bangalore.

Bangalore is a great city and very famous for its weather. Bangalore weather is ways awesome but its unpredictable and its been too cold these days. I usually use my bike to go to office. Riding the bike in the cold, sudden change in the weather and  I got sick.  I was feeling uncomfortable last thursday (21 Jan 2011) and I knew that i am going to get Fever. As expected i got fever on Thursday night. My health was not bad on friday morning so that i can skip my work, but it started becoming worst after when i was working at my office. So decided to take 'Off' and visit the doctor.

I told my manager about my health and directly headed to hospital (One of the Famous). I met this doctor who was in mid age(I guess some 10 years exp),  relaxing at his office (no patients). When I entered his office,

Me - Hi Doctor, I am Vijendra. How are you?
Dr. - Hi Vijendra. Whats your problem? (What else can you expect from a doctor).
Me- Hey i am sick, I am not feeling so good.

The conversation went on… He asked me some unnecessary questions like, do you live with friends? Do you work? Do you have insurance? etc. I told him, I stay with my parent, work in bangalore and I am insured. When i was describing my symptoms, i told him that "i am having throat pain". He took a look at it and he said

Dr. - Hey Vijendra you are having some serious problem. You may need to get admitted to hospital immediately.
Me - What?? What happened to me?
Dr. - You are having some infection in your throat which may lead to Pneumonia (I don't know how they are related)
Me - Really? But i am having this pain from morning.
Dr. - See you have to trust me, call your mom or dad, tell them to come here. You join now.

I tell you guys it was like someone forcing you to go to movie. After a minute pause, i answered him

Me - Doctor, do you have any Targets? I mean financially ?
Dr. - What? Enu heltha idira? (What are you taking?)
Me - Ade sir, immediate agi admit agu antha idiralla adakke kelide.. (You asked me to admin immediately, so i am guessing something is wrong)

The fight went on and on. Finally I left hospital with some dugs which the doctor prescribed me to take for a day (He was expecting me to get admitted next day). I didn't take the medication he prescribed, instead i took "Crosin" and I felt really good by morning.

This happened with me, I am fine since i did some google after i am back home and found nothing wrong with me. What about the uneducated people who come to these hospitals, these people will little rob them.

I am still thing about the solution for it, what we can do to stop all this crap, is these some awareness we can bring among the general public?

Feel free to comment.

Yours,
Vijendra

My place, My Bangalore - Namma Bengaluru

Hi everyone, Very Happy New Year!!!

Its been a while i was thinking to write this post about my place i.e. Bengaluru (Bendakaaluru--> Bangalore--->Bengaluru). Its been two months since I am back to India, i did observe a allot of changes around here. I will try to put my opinions here [Its completely personal].

As you already guessed whats my first topic, Traffic, yup it is. But this time i am feeling really good about the changes happened in traffic system here. Lots of improvements happened and more required too.But much better compare to couple of years. Firstly, traffic monitoring through cameras. It makes police life so easier, i use to feel pity on these police constables who can't catch any violated vehicles on the road but still need to stand in hot sun or rain or chilled weather. Now, you violate rule you will get your fine directly to registered address by mail. If you don't respond to it, you get warning letter followed by arrest warrant.

However I am not saying there is no cops on the road, even now they catch you if make any moving violation but no more paper receipts or bribe,  they are advanced in technology, its Blackberry. They will ask your vehicle number, you name, your DL number. thats it, they will print the receipt from the wireless printer which they have with them. It gets print instructions from the blackberry in which the police officer enter the fine details or violation info. Which is recoded against your DL number for future reference.

Lets park traffic for a while and talk about other things, like malls, restaurants . In two years there are around 5 new malls opened here. Each one is complete different from other. New restaurants like taco
bell, Shiok, Papa John's … Yummy yummy food.Still I didn't get time to visit any of these malls but I had once in Taco Bell.

Rental Cars are now available in Bangalore, if we are planning for any long trips why to waste miles in your won car, get a rental cars.. I heard about it, I don't have much info about it. Planning some trip this Jan, let me use this service.

Thats all for now, i really don;t want to bore you people…

Take care.

Hurt

Hey ppl, how are you? I started blogging from few months. I am not so good at it. But i try my best to share some feelings of mine.

When we say the word "HURT" it mostly applies to our closed ones. I was thinking from long time why we get hurt and make someone hurt. The major reason behind this is expectation. It could be from your parents, friend, relatives, or your gal/boy.

From my experience, for boys/men when they get hurt they drink(if they have a habit of drinking) else mood off,  they want to stay alone, specially away from the person from whom they got hurt.

When it comes to gals/women, its very simple they start CRYING… of course the only weapon they have with them. They get hurt most of the time in a day itself (they expect allot)

If you have a girlfriend then, i bet in a week she got hurt mostly from you(They think we won't understand them better, so we always hurt them). One thing they don;t realize is if we come to know she is hurt, we feel bad, that too its from us, we feel worst….

I don't know why i am saying all this, but this is my message, gals please understand even we have heart, we have eyes so we get tears, we always think 1000 times before we say something because, we want to make sure it will not hurt you….

Finally We can easily overcome this bad feeling if not  at least we can reduce its amount. All we need to do is, stop expecting. We get hurt only if we expect your friend to send one forward  or at least a message daily, your parents will ask your problems every time when you come home in late night, your close friend call you for some important moments of life etc etc.

PS: Love (GF/BF) is excluded from the list.

Feel free to comment.
